Yorkshire YHA trip 16th/17th February 2008

The The Explorers stayed in a YHA Bunkhouse (more like a fridge with no bunks) on a working farm near Kildale on the North Yorkshire moors. After arriving just after lunch on Saturday pm everyone went to Whitby to buy Joe a sleeping bag and to find a fish and chip shop. On returning they left their outdoor clothes on to try and keep warm around the two electric fires.

The next morning they were woken by the cattle next door, they were just through a stable door. The temperature outside was – 5c, inside it was petty similar. After breakfast everyone went on a 10 mile walk on the moors, on their return, they had a traditional curry cooked very slowly on an electric cooker. In the evening they went to the pub to warm up, they arrived to enter a pub quiz coming 4th out of about 10 other teams and also won £8 in the raffle.

The next morning they were up at 6.30 am to go to York, and then back to the hut where they arrived at 4.00 pm
