| First aid in action, ticks can be quite a problem |
The car park across the road from the Two Bridges
is one of our regular stops. |
| A sunny place for a picnic lunch |
The hikers are checked frequently to make sure everything is ok. |
| This is the camp site where the Explorers share the field with the sheep |
The older group camped on the edge of another forest. |
| |
Washing up still has to be done, even on a hike. |
| Some of the group decided to run across this field to the trees |
Can you spot who has gone, they are the little black dots. |
| Looks like someone chose the wrong route. |
All packed up for the next section of the hike. |
| The fantastic weather as we waited for the first group to finish |
He does not know what marigolds are really for, does he? |
| With Haytor in the background...... |
.....what a fantastic place for an investiture |
| This is proof that you need to wear two pair of socks ..... |
.....and you need to break in your boots before wearing them for a hike. |
| Otherwise you may have to resort to this as a way of getting around. |
Firelighting always attracts attention |
| Don't they look a happy bunch |
More firelighting ! |
| Lets go for a walk. |
Making sandwiches for lunch. |
| Time to strike camp |
He looks glad to have finished. |
| It is in here somewhere |
The 50k hike ended at Buckfastlleigh Abbey |
| After lunch at the Abbey it is time to head back to Uxbridge |
The traffic was as bad as ever on the return journey back to Uxbridge
so refreshment was needed at a motorway services. |
